Ruggles^2 COO Completes Service as MAAPE Level 3 Application "Monitor"

(Lancaster, PA - July 14, 2017)  Ruggles^2 Chief Operating Officer, Bill Ruggles, who is also a Baldrige National Examiner, completed his commitment to serve as a "Monitor" for the Mid-Atlantic Alliance for Performance Excellence (MAAPE).

He supported a Team of 8 Examiners on a Level 3 Application for one of the coveted 2017 MAAPE Regional Quality Awards that will be announced in November. The role of the "Monitor" provides coaching support to the Examiner Team Leader and acts as the representative of the MAAPE Executive Director.

MAAPE (formerly known as "KAPE" Keystone Alliance for Performance Excellence) is a 501c(3) nonprofit corporation that helps all types of organizations improve their performance and outcomes, including productivity, workforce engagement, competitiveness, and customer and stakeholder satisfaction.

While MAAPE's process is modeled after the prestigious Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, its process is not about “winning an Award.” It’s about using the Baldrige Framework to perform low-cost, non-prescriptive assessments in addressing each applicant’s unique challenges. It uses the leading-edge Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence as the basis for its process and for giving feedback to applicants.

There are three (3) Levels of Awards:

Level 3 Application (Advanced)

  • Organizational Profile and 50-page response to all Baldrige Criteria questions

  • Site Visit

  • Award Eligibility (Tier): Excellence, Mastery, Proficiency or Commitment

  • Examiner Trainees required

  • Feedback: Written summary of strengths and opportunities for improvement for each Baldrige Item

Level 2 Application (Intermediate)

  • Application includes an Organizational Profile and 50-page response to all Baldrige Criteria questions

  • Award Eligibility (Tier): Mastery, Proficiency or Commitment

  • Examiner Trainees required

  • Feedback: Written summary of strengths and opportunities for improvement for each Baldrige Item

Applicants have said that the MAAPE process is one of the best, most cost-effective and comprehensive assessments available. All MAAPE applicant organizations – regardless of size – receive public recognition for their efforts in journeying toward the attainment of organizational performance excellence.

MAAPE receives no financial or resource support from local, state or federal governments and, instead, it is funded by members and sponsors, and relies almost entirely on volunteers who share its passion for performance excellence.
