Success for many careers depends on those who can lead positive change and continuous improvement efforts in organizations of all types -- at both for-profit and non-profit organizations.
This course (delivered in a hands-on, "workshop" style) provides an overview of the philosophy, principles, processes, and tools of continuous improvement and operational excellence via the use of Lean Thinking and Kaizen Leadership as espoused by the Gemba Academy.
It has been designed for individuals pursuing careers in the fields of healthcare, manufacturing, business operations, information technology, education, finance, accounting, marketing or any other field which requires personnel who understand the Lean philosophy of working more efficiently and effectively to provide value to the Customer.
Students who complete this course will earn 51 hours of Lean-related education to apply toward Kaizen Leader Certification by our Center for Organizational Performance Improvement (COPI) or Lean Bronze Certification by the Society for Manufacturing Engineering (SME). This Certification will require successfully completing one (1) Kaizen Project of the student's choosing with the approval of the Professor.
A introductory textbook is required: Lean QuickStart Guide (The Simplified Beginner's Guide to Lean - 2nd Edition) available for purchase on Amazon.com.
