Ruggles^2 LLC was an Exhibitor at the Annual Awards Banquet and Conference for the Baldrige-affiliate Keystone Alliance for Performance Excellence (KAPE) that was held at the Desmond Hotel in Malvern, PA on November 16-17th.
In 2017, "KAPE" will become "MAAPE" (Mid-Atlantic Alliance for Performance Excellence) expanding to represent the Mid-Atlantic Region, including the states of New Jersey and Delaware, in addition to Pennsylvania. This will provide new opportunities for organizations in these 3 states to pursue their own performance excellence "quests" with no-cost and low-cost support coming from MAAPE and its cadre of regional volunteer examiners and judges.
In addition, our COO and Managing Partner, Bill Ruggles, who is a 2016 Baldrige National Examiner, delivered a 60-minute presentation on a very timely topic: "Baldrige Cybersecurity Initiatives".
During his presentation, in addition to sharing his insights gained as a 2016 Baldrige National Examiner, he referenced his practical cybersecurity governance and management experiences as the Deputy Project Manager for eSetup II -- a major Identity Access & Management System Upgrade Project at a Fortune-100 Healthcare firm, as the Data & Coordination Center Administrative Manager for the WTC Healthcare Program based at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, and, most recently, as NJ's first OIT Deputy CTO for Workforce Enhancement.
Cybersecurity is a topic which has become critical to organizations of all sizes in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors since it has become a staple of routine business risk, preparedness, and continuity planning in today's internet-driven economy.
As a result, starting in 2017, the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program and the Framework and Excellence Builder used for assessing applicants for National, Regional, and State Quality Awards will include a new set of questions related to ensuring that the challenges and opportunities of cybersecurity are being addressed from a strategic organizational perspective.
This Annual Conference, in addition to a full slate of speakers on November 17th, delivered two (2) Pre-Conference workshops prior to the Annual Awards Banquet the day before the Conference.
